TAKAHIRO SANDA 三田尚弘
Born in 1980 in Aichi Prefecture, Japan
Lives and works in Aichi Prefecture, Japan
Using the shared consciousness characteristic of post-modern society as a theme, Sanda produces paintings with backdrops that appear faded in color, as if painted long ago. To bring out collective thoughts and feelings in a natural way, he elects to deify them in the form of anamorphic animals. Believing that to deify is to beautify, and that to beautify is to embody in the female form, his graceful shapes evoke a harmonious natural cycle of birth, death, and rebirth that repeats without end. These colors and unique forms are both reflections of ancient Japanese culture and a vessel for hidden messages directed at people living in contemporary times.
